John—
The U.S. Postal Service just announced the launch of a postal banking pilot program in four cities, offering some basic financial services to unbanked and underbanked Americans.
This is a huge first step toward revitalizing the postal service and demonstrating that the USPS can effectively serve unbanked and underbanked communities—and it’s thanks in large part to leaders like Kirsten Gillibrand in the Senate.
Kirsten has been an outspoken advocate for postal banking for years. The Postal Banking Act, which she introduced with Senator Bernie Sanders, would provide basic banking services to millions of Americans on the fringes of our financial system, and raise $9 billion a year in revenue that could save the Postal Service.
We need to keep Kirsten in the Senate so she can continue to lead on important issues like this. Will you make a contribution to support her re-election campaign now?

Postal banking enables post offices to provide basic banking services to the nearly 10 million American households without bank accounts who are forced to rely on costly, fringe financial products.
The postal service’s 30,000+ locations service even the most remote communities, and could offer access to ATMs and mobile banking, low-cost checking and savings accounts, and low-interest loans for families in need of a financial bridge to cover basic costs.
It’s an elegant, proven solution that would generate billions for the postal service while addressing the exceedingly high cost of being poor.
Big banks, payday lenders and proponents of privatizing the postal service have blocked the idea of postal banking for decades. But that hasn’t stopped Kirsten from leading the fight to put American families first.
This is important. Please, make a donation if you can. Any amount brings us one step closer to re-electing Kirsten Gillibrand.
Thank you,
Team Gillibrand
