Hey it’s Liz -- I’m the AOTL deputy states director in touch with the Georgia and Texas teams. Every time a map is proposed in one of our target states, the teams huddle to dive into the map analysis and figure out how we can best help voters in that state.

And recently, after every new gerrymandered map gets released, our president Kelly Burton says: “This is a pattern! Another example of conservatives actively using the redistricting process to attempt to take competitive districts off the table.”

She’s not wrong. We’ve seen this in Texas and Georgia with congressional maps -- we’ve even seen a state legislative map gerrymandered to slash the number of competitive districts.

That’s why I’m reaching out. Map manipulators are willing to draw the competition right out of our elections. We can’t let this happen.

Raffi and I are making some hard decisions about how to allocate our staff time and resources. Seeing grassroots donations come in -- especially right after we send out an alert about a gerrymandered map -- makes it a lot easier to comfortably make budget decisions.

When Raffi reached out and challenged our supporters to give $1, we saw a lot of support from DC. Today I’m asking you to donate $2. Here’s a custom link that our finance team made so we can track donations: [[link removed]]

Thanks for your support,
Liz Wester
