We need to act now to keep Trump loyalists out of office.
Friend,
My name is Maura Healey – I'm the Democratic Attorney General of Massachusetts and a Co-Chair of DAGA.
I am proud to say that I am the first openly LGBTQ Democratic Attorney General in the history of our country – and one of the moments I’m most proud of in my career of service was successfully spearheading the Massachusetts challenge to the federal Defense of Marriage Act. That challenge ended up resulting in a landmark victory for gay and lesbian couples.
I bring this up because there’s a common thread in the work Democratic AGs do for our communities: answering the call to service and fighting for equal treatment under the law. And that is why I’m reaching out to you today, friend.
Dem AGs serve as the People’s Lawyers because we believe in building safer and fairer states where every family can thrive, no matter who they are, how they identify, or what they believe.
But in 2022, some of our communities’ strongest advocates are under electoral threat from right-wing extremists who have no intention of defending our fundamental rights.
I believe that we’re at another crossroads in America. Donald Trump is out of the Oval Office, but the fear and animosity that fueled his rise to power are sadly very much alive in America today. We once again face a choice in this coming midterm: will we reject Trumpism, in all of its forms, at the ballot box? Or will we fail to build the grassroots movement we need to keep progressive advocates in AG seats around the country and defend our most vulnerable communities?
I believe we are capable of building that network of grassroots supporters, and keeping hard working progressive Dem AGs in office.

Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
