John, I need to have a conversation with you about an issue close to my heart.

I’m the product of gun violence.

When I was just two years old, I lost my biological father to gun violence. And I know I’m not alone.

Gun violence touches so many of us — loved ones are taken too soon, children are robbed of having a chance at life, and nobody is better off because of it.

This is why I take gun control reform so seriously.

As Chief Deputy Whip in the House of Delegates, I’ve led the charge to strengthen the Commonwealth’s weak record regarding gun control.

And I got results — our Democratic majority expanded background checks, passed “red flag” laws, and extended the wait period in an effort to keep guns out of dangerous hands.

John, I will be your advocate as Lt. Governor to build upon this progress. I know families, students, and all Virginians are worth it — no one should lose a loved one to gun violence like I did.

But my Republican opponent doesn’t feel the same way. Winsome Sears has no plan to curb the gun violence epidemic.

So I’m calling on you, John, to help get me to the Lt. Governor’s office to continue our fight. Will you contribute $3 or any amount tonight?
