John,

I write to you from our nation's capital, where I and members of the TFN team traveled to last week to join our partners and deliver a message to federal lawmakers: #BansOffOurBodies, because our rights must be protected and our autonomy is not negotiable.

Texas now has the most restrictive abortion law in the nation and since it went into effect on Sept. 1, almost all abortions in our state have been stopped.

I was honored to speak during Saturday's Rally for Abortion Justice and March [[link removed]] . We went to D.C. to demonstrate our state’s strength and resilience in the face of this all out assault on our rights. We met with lawmakers, spoke to reporters, rallied outside the U.S. Supreme Court and, of course, we marched.

I want so share with you a little bit of what I told the crowd:

When we take a stand, we are fighting for our rights
When we take a break, we are fighting for our rights
When we resist, we are fighting for our rights
When we get an abortion, we are fighting for our rights
When we have our babies, we are fighting for our rights
When we march at any march at any time, we are fighting for our rights
When we are in joy, we are fighting for our rights
When we don't agree, we are still fighting for our rights
When we support and care about every single person on the planet, we are fighting for our rights

So today we put the entire world on notice that we will always fight and we will keep fighting until this hell freezes over. And then we will fight on the ice.

Right now, Texas needs your help more than ever. Our presence at the state Capitol, our leadership and our strong network of activists are needed to fight for the values you care about and even defend democracy itself. With your support of the Rapid Response Fund, you will help ensure that attacks on our values don’t go unanswered. [[link removed]]

If we don't act now and every single day, those who seek to take away our rights will turn this almost complete ban into a total and absolute ban on abortion. We have an urgent call for unrelenting action because this fight for abortion rights has never been more important.

In faith,
