We’re not going to allow corporations to cut trillions of dollars from President Biden’s Build Back Better Act.
Cutting President Biden’s popular Build Back Better Act by $2 trillion would mean cutting long-overdue investments in paid leave, childcare, health care, climate action, housing, and education.
That’s why on CNN this weekend, I told Dana Bash that slashing the investments that working people, families, and our communities need by $2 trillion is not going to happen.
The topline number does not come out of thin air. We didn’t pick it out of a hat. It comes from the important priorities that President Biden outlined before Congress more than five months ago. It comes from the priorities that we all promised people when they gave us the House, the Senate, and the White House.
And look, we know exactly who is trying to slash away Democratic priorities: Corporate America. They want us to make these “wrenching” choices:
The people did not elect us so we could choose between providing health care OR child care, addressing homelessness OR climate change. We need to deliver economic relief for people in this country AND we need to fight climate change.
Corporations will do everything they can to slash the Build Back Better Act and avoid paying their fair share in taxes. I’m fighting back, because Democrats must act for the people — not Big Pharma, Wall Street, and the fossil fuel industry. Can you chip in $3 to fuel my fight? We will deliver for the people, no matter how hard corporate America and Big Pharma tries to stop us.

As our urgent work continues, I’m so glad to have you with me in this fight.
