A personal note from Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt John, The future of our state is in jeopardy. One-party rule in Albany has transformed New York into a place where the needs of violent criminals are put ahead of hardworking families and children in communities across our state. And while Andrew Cuomo has finally resigned in disgrace, the corrupt culture he fostered is alive and well in our state capital. As Leader of the Senate Republican Conference, I fight everyday to give families a voice, support our farms and small businesses, protect our freedoms, defend our law enforcement officers and provide a bright future for the next generation of New Yorkers. Unfortunately, the corrupt leadership under one-party rule is standing in the way of these goals. To save our state, we need new leadership in Albany. That is why I am proud to endorse Lee Zeldin to be the next Governor of the State of New York. Like me, Lee volunteered to serve his country by joining the US Army. He returned home to fight for the future of New York in Albany and in Washington, while raising twin girls - Mikayla and Arianna - with his wife, Diana, on Long Island. Lee Zeldin has a proven record fighting for New Yorkers. He’s lowered taxes for families and small businesses. He has enacted important policies like the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Program, a statewide program aiding veterans struggling with PTSD, and opening a new health care clinic for disabled veterans. Lee has a strong record supporting safe communities. He supports a repeal of the pro-criminal bail reform laws and vows to support and protect the men and women who keep our communities safe. He won’t stand idly by while Democrats try to defund and disarm our law enforcement. New York needs a battle-tested leader like Lee Zeldin who understands the challenges of families and communities across New York.
