Folks,
It’s no secret that Sean isn’t Mitch McConnell’s biggest fan, but we’ve never seen him this fed up.
McConnell has been abusing the power of the filibuster since Democrats regained control of the House and the Senate -- making it a point to block President Joe Biden’s agenda, including protecting and expanding the right to vote, or an expansive infrastructure package.
Sean and your Democratic House majority have passed major legislation that the American people want, only to have it thwarted by the Senate filibuster. So, Sean wants to know:
Do you support removing the Senate filibuster?
If President Biden hadn't signed an emergency resolution to continue funding the government last week, Mitch McConnell would have rather seen the government shut down than raise the debt ceiling.
The debt ceiling controversy is all about paying off previous spending -- i.e. the seven trillion dollars Republicans added to our country’s national debt under the Trump administration.
Mitch McConnell and his party voted to raise the debt ceiling three times while Trump was in office!
But Mitch made it clear that he’d rather see our country default, putting some six million jobs and $15 trillion in household wealth on the line just to see Democrats fail.
If President Biden hadn't stepped in, that could've been our reality.
Barring some miracle, Mitch McConnell isn’t going anywhere. But, we can take away his undue power in the Senate by removing the filibuster once and for all.
Tell Sean today: Do you support removing the Senate filibuster?
