Last month, I was proud to be sworn in as Mayor Pro Tempore for the City of West Hollywood! The swearing ceremony, which took place on Zoom, was an enormous experience that I am so grateful you all helped make happen. In 2020, I was proud to make history when I was elected to the West Hollywood City Council—becoming the first out LGBTQ+ Iranian elected anywhere in the entire world!
It's been a journey to get here, and I am eternally thankful to my amazing team of volunteers and supporters that helped me get here.
And I am grateful to you, John. The NIAC Action team pulled out all the stops for my election. The organizing team hosted phone banks and events that turned out an impressive slate of volunteers who made thousands of calls for my campaign. It’s organizing like this that gets Iranian Americans a seat at the table.
We know that electing representatives of our community who will be a strong voice on the issues that matter to Iranian-Americans is the key to advancing our mission. We can’t do that unless we have the support of people like you.
Can you chip in to support NIAC Action and help continue our community's winning streak? With November 2022 quickly approaching, we must act now to build the resources we need to keep electing Iranian Americans at all levels of government.
