🌹 Greetings from the Steering Committee 🌹

Atlanta DSA,

As the newly elected Steering Committee, we’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who organized, attended, and participated in the 2021 Atlanta DSA Convention. It’s an honor that you all have trusted us with your vote, and we are excited for the year to come!

Over this last year, the chapter has grown and accomplished a lot. We’ve worked hard to provide clearer structures, accessible onboarding, and easy-to-plug-in-to, outward-facing campaigns. This upcoming year, we look forward to building on this great work with all of you! We can’t wait to get started on new housing, electoral, and labor campaign work, organizer trainings, and engaging opportunities for members to organize, learn, and be in community with one another.

Thank you to everyone who works to keep Atlanta DSA growing and improving. It’s only by organizing together that we can build a multiracial mass movement to fight for a worker-run economy and society. If you have questions or want to reach out, email [email protected].

In Solidarity,

🏡 Housing for All Canvass at Coan Park! 🏡

Graphic for Housing for All Canvass on Saturday October 9 at 10:00 am at Coan Park. atldsa.org/h4acanvass

Come canvass with Atlanta DSA this Saturday at 10 at Coan Park (1530 Woodbine Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30317).

Housing is a human right! Yet thanks to capitalism and neglect by our Mayor and City Council, over 3,000 Atlantans are unhoused! Meanwhile, gentrification pushes out residents, rents are rising, and the police carry out evictions and violent sweeps of unhoused communities!

As election season heats up, we're knocking doors and talking to residents about key issues facing Atlanta like Housing for All, Stopping the Sweeps and redirecting city funds away from policing, jails, and projects like Cop City and into public services like housing!

Meet at the Gazebo at Coan Park. We'll provide snacks and water! Just remember to wear a mask and bring a friend! No experience needed!

⚒ DSA/IATSE Organizing Meeting ⚒

Hollywood Labor invites all dual IATSE and DSA members for an internal meeting to reflect, discuss, and coordinate next steps after voting for strike authorization has finished.

Note: This meeting is intended only for current IATSE members. Hollywood Labor will have more opportunities for everybody to support IATSE workers!

Canvass & Phonebank to Elect Rogelio

Join the Vote Rogelio campaign for upcoming canvasses and phonebanks! Election day is just over a month away, so we are at a critical point for engaging voters and we cannot do it without you! Get #TeamRogelio campaign gear when you sign up to phonebank or canvass. Free food is provided at each canvass, and no experience is required!
