John,

I'm dismayed by the recent images showing U.S. law enforcement officials attacking Haitian refugees at our southern border, and I am outraged at the violence by these U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents against defenseless refugees.

In recent months, Haiti has experienced dangerous political unrest and natural disasters. Now, as Haitian refugees are forced to flee their country and seek safety elsewhere, some U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers are greeting them with violence.

This inhumane treatment of refugees is certainly not in the job description, and it's not what our taxpayer dollars should be funding.

Today, I'm joining a call for the immediate cessation of Haitian deportations, a comprehensive pathway to citizenship, and an immediate firing of any border patrol agents who committed needless violence against Haitian refugees.

Will you join me in adding your name to this petition to demand a humanitarian moratorium and due process for Haitian refugees? [[link removed]]

No one deserves to be treated this way — especially when fleeing from devastating conditions to seek refuge somewhere safer. Our Haitian neighbors deserve to be treated with compassion during these trying times.

If you agree, add your name to this petition to demand a humanitarian moratorium and due process for Haitian refugees. >> [[link removed]]
