John,
Across the country, people are speaking out for reproductive freedom in the wake of Texas’ six-week ban on nearly all abortions. It’s one of the darkest moments for reproductive rights in decades.
In the past few weeks, I’ve heard from people across our Commonwealth about their fears and concerns — Pennsylvania women who made the choice to have an abortion because it was best for their families, physicians who provide this critical care, and even my own daughter, Olivia. None can fathom a future where safe, legal abortion is a thing of the past.
And all are raising their voices loud and clear to say these choices should be left to patients and their doctors, not politicians in Texas, Pennsylvania, or Washington, D.C.
As a woman, a physician, a mom to three kids, and your next U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, I promise to fight for abortion rights for people in our Commonwealth and across the country. This couldn’t be more important as we face the most imminent threat to abortion access in decades.
I am ready to champion reproductive rights in the U.S. Senate, but I’m counting on your support to help me get there. Will you chip in any amount right now so I can take our fight for access to abortion and the full range of reproductive health care to Washington?

As a physician, I’ve sat with women as they’ve made difficult decisions about their pregnancies. I spent years on the labor and delivery floor and in the operating room, and I know firsthand the risks of pregnancy and the danger that will result from limiting women’s range of health care options.
We must act without delay. First and foremost, we need to codify Roe v. Wade before the conservative-stacked Supreme Court potentially overturns it for good. We must pass the Women’s Health Protection Act to prevent other states from passing laws like the ban in Texas and ensure we have laws on the books to protect access to abortion and the ability of health care providers to provide those services.
But we can’t stop there.
We need to talk about the fact that for some women, abortion access is out of reach already because of cost. No form of health care should ever be out of reach because of someone’s ability to pay. We must expand access to abortion care by repealing the Hyde Amendment and getting rid of patient cost-sharing for abortion care.
And we know Republican legislatures will undoubtedly go after contraception next, which is why we must make the full range of it, including emergency contraception, available at no cost to patients over-the-counter.
There’s never been a more important time to have a woman physician in the U.S. Senate fighting to get this done. We can’t afford to wait and we know these attacks on abortion access are only the beginning. John, if you agree, please pitch in to help us keep building this campaign.
I will never back down in the fight for reproductive rights, and I know you won’t either. Thank you for standing with me.
With determination,
Val
