Even as Arizona and Georgia turned blue in 2020, Florida got redder -- and the reason for that is simple: Florida has fewer young Latino voters. These voters are statistically more likely to vote for Democrats.

If we want Florida to go the way of Arizona and Georgia, we must register a larger share of young Latinos to vote. There’s a municipal voter registration deadline coming up tomorrow in Miami and other major Florida metro areas, so please donate $18 to Voto Latino’s voter registration efforts. Why $18? Because that’s how much it costs to register and mobilize a single Latino voter.

In Arizona, 27.5% of all Latino voters are under the age of 30; in Georgia, it’s 31.4%. But in Florida, that number is only 16.7% . So we have our work cut out for us ahead of 2022.

Next year, we must defeat Gov. Ron DeSantis, retire Sen. Marco Rubio, and protect our razor-thin House majority by reelecting vulnerable Florida Democrats. If we want to have a shot at winning these races, we need to dramatically increase the young Latino share of the electorate. Luckily, here at Voto Latino, we’re experts at getting young Latinos registered and mobilized to vote. Nearly 80% of the voters we registered in 2020 cast a ballot in the November election -- and half of them were first-time voters!

Help us reshape Florida’s electorate by making a donation of $18 before tomorrow’s urgent voter registration deadline:
