Hi, John.

Welcome to October! We’re now less than 5 weeks from Election Day and candidates across the county are fighting hard for victory on Election Day. As we mentioned in our last newsletter, New Jersey is one of only two states in the country with gubernatorial and state legislative races this year, so our work in support of candidates is more important than ever. All eyes are on the New Jersey elections this year!

In this issue, you’ll find an update on MCYD's Candidate Awards, a reminder of the young democrats running for office in Morris County, ways you can get involved in campaigns, our next MCYD meeting, and other upcoming events.

MCYD Candidate Awards

Last month, Young Democrats from Butler to Long Hill and from Washington Township to Montville cast their votes to determine our 2021 Candidate Award Winners.

While the MCYD supports and endorses ALL Democrats, particularly Young Democrats, we're a small group with limited resources. So this year, we made the decision to award $500 each to 4 candidates or teams voted on and selected by the voting members of MCYD.

We're happy to announce our winners:
* Alderman Adrian Ballesteros, Candidate for Dover Alderman
* Deputy Mayor Mark Gyorfy, Candidate for Morris Township Committee
* T.C. McCourt, Candidate for Morris County Commissioner
* Team Soriano 2021
+ Mayor Michael Soriano, Candidate for Parsippany Mayor
+ Cori Herbig and Judy Hernandez, Candidates for Parsippany Council

Young Democrats on Your Ballot this November

A quick reminder that there are more young Democrats than ever running to represent you across Morris County this November. These candidates are running to ensure that our values are represented at every level of government.

We hope they can count on your vote in the
November general election.

The young democrats currently running for office are:

* Adrian Ballesteros ([link removed]) - Dover Board of Aldermen
* Mark Gyorfy ([link removed]) - Morris Township Committee

* Keith Griffin ([link removed]) - Roxbury Township Council
* Michael Brunken ([link removed]) - Washington Township Committee
* Dylan Terpstra - Washington Township Board of Education

If you haven't already, you can register to vote in this November election here ([link removed]) by October 12th. And you can register to vote by mail here ([link removed]) by October 26.
