Friends,

A moment I’ll never forget and always love to share is when I got out of my seat on my first trip to space and saw Earth from orbit for the first time.

Seeing our planet, everywhere you’ve ever been and everyone you’ve ever known, as a blue ball floating in the blackness of space, you realize we’re all in this together.

But I’ll also tell you that between my first and fourth trips to space, I witnessed significant changes in our planet that would make it clear to anyone that climate change threatens our way of life.

And there is no Planet B.

One specific issue that’s impacting Arizona right now is drought.

As some of you know, Arizona gets about 40 percent of our water from the Colorado River, and the government recently announced the river’s first-ever drought restrictions.

That means beginning next year, Arizona faces cutbacks from our Colorado River water supply.

This problem isn't limited to Arizona, and it’s one Congress must tackle.

So today, I am asking you to make your voice heard on this issue:

Sign my petition urging Congress to take action on climate change, including water recycling, resilience, desalination, and more. >>> [link removed]

Securing Arizona’s, and our country’s, water future is an urgent priority. Congress needs to know you see it that way as well.
