John,

Since the start of the pandemic, eviction bans have kept millions of people from losing their homes.

On August 26th though, the federal eviction moratorium put in place by the CDC was brought to an end by the Supreme Court.

With the federal eviction moratorium gone, millions of Americans now face the bleak reality of losing their homes, with nowhere to turn to, all while the pandemic rages on.

The eviction crisis will get worse if no action is taken to protect the safety of renters.

That’s why I want you to stand with DFA, Representative Cori Bush and Senators Elizabeth Warren, and Ed Markey by adding your name as a citizen co-signer of the Keeping Renters Safe Act, legislation that will protect renters from eviction and curb the spread of COVID-19.

On the steps of the Capitol building, for three nights through rain and summer heat, Cori Bush led a sit-in to protest the expiration of the federal eviction moratorium.

Her protest forced the White House to issue a 60-day eviction ban on August 3rd, protecting hundreds of thousands of tenants at risk of losing their homes.

While this ban was overturned by the Supreme Court on August 26th, Cori Bush’s courage and bravery showed that when people stand up and demand change, change is possible.

Cori Bush has now introduced the Keeping Renters Safe Act to once again protect renters from being evicted while the pandemic continues to take thousands of lives.

Already, 39 Representatives and 5 Senators have co-sponsored this incredibly important legislation that is needed to make sure Americans do not lose their homes.

Congress must immediately enact the Keeping Renters Safe Act of 2021.

Add your name now to co-sign Congresswoman Cori Bush's bill to keep millions of people safely in their homes during this public health crisis.
