Friend,
I think it’s pretty clear where each party stands on immigration.
The Democratic House swiftly passed a resolution to condemn Trump’s anti-immigration tweets attacking four congresswomen of color as xenophobic, hateful, and racist.
All but four Republicans voted against it.
The Democratic House passed the historic Dream and Promise Act to provide a pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children.
Trump is actively trying to dismantle the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and strip 700,000 Dreamers of their rights.
And now he just got one step closer.
The Supreme Court has decided to take up the case on whether Trump can end DACA, and they’re expected to make a decision in the next couple months. The fate of hundreds of thousands of immigrants now lies in a right-leaning court with conservative judges appointed by Trump himself.
I need you to fight alongside me and send a message to the Supreme Court that we demand they rule in favor of Dreamers and against Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda. Sign my petition now to demand the Supreme Court uphold DACA.
Dreamers were brought to the United States as children — for many, this country is the only home they’ve ever known. They’re our neighbors, our friends, our coworkers, our children’s classmates. They want and deserve a life as citizens of this great nation.
Young, undocumented immigrants should not have to live in fear. Together, our voices are more powerful than Trump’s xenophobic agenda and cruel deportation force.
In solidarity,
Barbara Lee
