Hey John — did you hear? A new survey was just released that shows young people have a lot of anxiety about the effects of climate change.
The poll interviewed 10,000 young people across 10 countries between the ages of 16 and 25. The results were stunning:
Roughly 2/3rds reported feeling sad, afraid, and anxious when thinking about climate change
80% said they felt like we have failed to take care of our planet
40% said that they were hesitant to have children because of our planet’s uncertain future
80% said that the future is “frightening.”
According to this study, climate change is causing psychological distress for many young people and is an issue extremely top of mind for them. But now we want to check with our top supporters of all ages to see if they feel similarly. Is climate change something that worries you and causes you distress, John?
Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
