NEWSLETTER
Hello, thank you for your generous support of New Politics and our candidates in recent days during the end-of-quarter fundraising push. Although it's over a year until the next federal Election Day, milestones like the one this week will be make or break for candidates and their campaigns. And that's not to mention the state-level elections taking place in one month.
Read on to learn about candidates we're supporting on the ballot this fall, ways that our servant leaders met the moment as war in Afghanistan ended, and the inspiring candidates we've recently endorsed who you should keep your eye on.

Closing an industry-wide gap
Angel investors. Seed funding. Venture capital. Unicorn startups. In business, there’s a whole industry of forward-thinkers eager to invest in promising people, ideas, and products — often years before they’ve ever generated even a penny of profit. But that attitude is nearly nonexistent in political campaigns, where most donations are made at the last minute, late in the summer ahead of a November election.
At New Politics, we’re trying to close the gap between the way the most ambitious tech startups raise cash from angels and VC firms and business-as-usual in politics.

Candidate Spotlight
Virginia goes to the polls on November 2nd, so we're highligting one of the candidates we've endorsed for Delegate: Dan Helmer. Dan is an Army veteran and Rhodes Scholar who we've backed since his first campaign in 2019. In addition to his service to our nation, Dan has distinguished himself in his short tenure as an elected leader. This week, he earned the endorsement of the Washington Post Editorial Board, who wrote, "Mr. Helmer has displayed guts, independence and intelligence as a freshman lawmaker, including by backing a bipartisan redistricting commission — a reform overwhelmingly approved by Virginia voters — even when members of his own party reversed themselves to oppose it."
