Coming Soon: Fruits of Labor
Ashley, a Mexican-American teenager living in an agricultural town in the central coast of California, dreams of graduating high school and going to college. But when ICE raids threaten her family, Ashley is forced to become the breadwinner, working days in the strawberry fields and nights at a food processing company. Fruits of Labor ([link removed]) broadcasts on Monday, October 4th at 10pm on PBS (check local listings ([link removed]) ) and streaming online at POV.org.

Events & panels featuring the filmmakers in conversation with artists, scholars and activists
Director Emily Cohen Ibañez hosted a screening of the film at Watsonville High for students faculty, staff, and family members. In addition to artist-led workshops by Favianna Rodriguez ([link removed]) and Cristal Gonzalez ([link removed]) , the film team also hosted a Reposo, co-napping exhibit modelled after an exhibit that took place in 2008 in Colombia, SA ([link removed]) . One audience member responded by saying: "During the Teatro circle [led by Cristal Gonzalez], a friend of mine said how the workshop gave him a sense of community even when sometimes he feels alone."
The film team attended a screening at Berkeley's New Parkway Theatre, hosted by The Berkeley Film Foundation, featuring Q&A with director Emily Cohen Ibañez, Ashly S. Pavon and moderated by filmmaker Ray Telles.
