The TV stations just alerted our campaign that Jim Hood has placed a massive new television buy. He’s out-gunning our campaign in three of our state’s markets, and he’s spent $2.2 million in this election, with almost all of it attacking my good name.
The money is coming from the National Democratic Party and from liberal trial lawyers. The Wall Street Journal has described Jim Hood’s methods “a sleazy practice” of raising money from the same lawyers whose pockets he pads with his official office.
The National Liberals, including left-wing Governors from states like California and New York, desperately want to embarrass President Trump by taking over the Governor’s Mansion in Mississippi. Their argument is simple: "if we can beat a Trump supporter like Tate Reeves in a place like Mississippi, we can beat Trump himself.” The National Liberals know that Jim Hood will do their bidding.
Jim Hood and his crowd oppose the tough, conservative leadership that President Trump is giving America - and they oppose the progress we have made in Mississippi.
