I know my team and I have been in touch a lot this week. Sorry to bombard you, but we're facing a number of new challenges this year that make tonight's end-of-quarter fundraising deadline more critical than usual.

For starters, history tells us that the party in power is at risk of losing their House majority during midterm elections. Republicans are continuing to rally and embolden their far-right base, and they believe they have an edge in CA-49.

But I have something they don't -- I have you, John. You're the reason I'm able to stay in this fight for progress -- whether it's our effort to reduce child poverty through the child tax credit, support our veterans, or tackle the climate crisis. You're the reason we're on track to make transformational investments in our future.

I won't sugar coat it, next year's election will likely be one of the toughest we've faced. But you've been here for me through thick and thin, and I hope I can continue to count on your support.

We're still coming up just short of our fundraising goal and I really need to meet the mark on this one. Are you able to dig just a bit deeper and help meet our target? A $3 contribution before midnight would be a huge help.
