Dear John,

I'm reaching out one last time before our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline at midnight tonight because with time running out, we're still short. Please, if you haven't donated yet, I'm asking personally for you to consider chipping in now.

I never imagined I'd be writing emails like this, asking for help to end gun violence. The first time I truly came to grips with the toll gun violence can take on a family was when it happened to mine — when my mom was killed senselessly almost 18 years ago. Since then, I've tried to do everything I can to honor her legacy and help Brady end America's gun violence epidemic.

It's for my mom — and my coworkers' parents and loved ones, and the tens of thousands of people whose deaths by gun violence were preventable — that I am emailing you, and it's on their behalf that we need your support right now. Our end-of-quarter deadline is the biggest Brady's faced this year, but we're still coming up just short of our goal — and every dollar we fail to raise is a dollar we can't use against the NRA and their pocket politicians.

Please, I hate to ask but the stakes are too high not to: Will you help to end gun violence and save lives by donating $5 before our end-of-quarter deadline at midnight?

Thank you so much for your support — it is absolutely essential and means so much to each of us.
