Let Kashmir speak

Hi John,
In the last six weeks, our researchers on the ground in Kashmir have witnessed Indian authorities unfairly arresting activists, politicians and even children who are thought to hold contrary beliefs to the government.
In most cases, lawyers and family members are not told why the arrests happened or where their loved ones are being held. This is a serious injustice and a violation of the right to a fair trial.
We cannot stand by and do nothing. We must show the Indian authorities that we know what they are doing. Will you email the Indian authorities today?

Some mobile networks are back up but internet services are still not available throughout Jammu and Kashmir. Public transport continues to be blocked, stopping anyone getting in or out. All this makes it incredibly hard to know exactly what’s going on.
This is so scary because it means the government thinks they can get away with their crimes. Almost every person we interviewed described being beaten and threatened, with several being tortured or faced with other cruel treatment.
We must show the Indian government that despite the communications crackdown, we know what’s going on and stand with the men and women fighting for their rights.
Will you stand with us and email today?
