Proto: Lamont should Apologize for mocking Religious Freedom.

HARTFORD – On Wednesday, Governor Ned Lamont referred to those individuals who are using the religious exemption to stay in compliance with their employers who are impacted by the federal andstate Covid-19 Vaccine mandates as "Mother Teresa." ([link removed])

Connecticut Republican Party Chairman Ben Proto released the following statement in reaction:

"I am in complete disbelief over the lengths that our state's leader will go to undercut the opinions and rights of those who feel differently than he does, especially on this pandemic and the vaccine. There should be no tolerance for using any religious figure to demean people. It is completely unacceptable for the Governor to act in this way. He should apologize to the people of Connecticut for not respecting their religious freedoms or the aspects of their faith. Our state, the Constitution State, was founded on establishing and protecting individual's freedoms - first of which is their freedom of religion. This is an embarrassment for our state, and we deserve better from our elected officials."
