This past month has been tremendously successful for our campaign. Looking back, I couldn’t be more proud of everything we’ve accomplished, and I wanted to share some highlights:

• We held two successful events in our listening tour around the district where I got to speak directly with parents in our community about the state of our education system and the safety of our children. Be on the lookout for more coming soon and let me know if you would like to see one in a particular area or on a particular issue!
  
  
• We ensured that as many community members as possible applied for the Emergency Renter’s Assistance program, providing countless families with significant economic relief. I know this continues to be a pressing issue for many families so please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns!
  
  
• We called for (and will continue to fight for) a New Deal for CUNY -- to make free tuition, new modernized buildings, improved student mental health ratios, and more teaching staff -- a reality.
  
  
• I sponsored legislation to fix the loophole in New York’s sexual harassment laws. (Don’t forget to join me tonight at PowHer New York’s virtual event where we will discuss best practices to engage men in creating culture change around sexual harassment.)
  
  
• We held a picnic with our seniors where I couldn’t help but show photos of my son to anyone with the patience to indulge me.

With your help, October can be even more successful. We still have so many challenges ahead and I am committed to working every day to continue to give support to our families, businesses, and communities across Southern Brooklyn. But I can’t do this alone.
