Amnesty Plan B struck down

... but Democrats had already announced they had a Plan C and a Plan D

Dear John,

We got word yesterday, as I was already sending my weekly letter out, that Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough rejected the Democratic Senate leadership "Plan B" to use the budget reconciliation process to pass a massive amnesty! That plan would have granted amnesty to around six million illegal aliens, those who had arrived in the U.S. before 2010.

This is a relief of sorts, but Senator Dick Durbin, the second-ranking Democrat, had already announced that leadership had a Plan C and Plan D ready to go. We're not sure what these plans are, but there is some talk among Democrats of ramming the amnesty through despite the parliamentarian's objections.

This could be a LONG fight, and we need to stay well-funded as it unfolds. We've been spending THOUSANDS of dollars a day, swamping Congress with phone calls in opposition to this amnesty, and it looks like the battle is going to continue for a while.

But we have more good news! We JUST had another major donor add ANOTHER $100,000 to our fundraising match campaign. So that's fantastic. Thank you to the thousands of our supporters who have ALREADY had their donations matched, dollar for dollar. This campaign has been a HUGE success, our largest NumbersUSA ACTION fundraiser ever! Any gift you make will still be matched, dollar for dollar.

I need to ask you to PLEASE DONATE TODAY! While we have plenty of money to match donations, we need to hear from you by MIDNIGHT TONIGHT (Sept. 30) to be able to spend your donation immediately!

October 1 is a very important date for us, since it's the start of a new fiscal year. The more money we bring in before October 1, the more our board of directors, who oversee our finances, know they can allow us to spend to defeat amnesty. I

If you are mailing a check, be SURE to postmark it by midnight Thursday, with a September date on the check.
