If you’ve turned on the news lately, you know I’ve been working around the clock to make sure Congress delivers on President Biden’s agenda. I promise you I won’t stop fighting until we get it done.
The thing is, it’s also the day of our critical end-of-quarter FEC fundraising deadline — and right now we’re tracking behind our goal.
So as one of the few members of Congress to reject ALL contributions from PACs and lobbyists – I’m taking a moment to see if you can personally help put us over the top of our end-of-quarter grassroots goal by pitching in an online donation of just $10 or more.
Why does this deadline matter? First of all, it’s when campaigns like ours are required to report our fundraising numbers to the Federal Election Commission. In other words, the grassroots strength of our campaign becomes visible for anyone to see.
Voters, media figures, even right-wing politicians who want to unseat me in 2022 — they’ll all be looking at our report to gauge how seriously they need to engage with our progressive movement.
But it’s not just a number. Every quarter, we set a grassroots donation goal because we need to have the kind of resources to match the ambitious goals of our movement — the kind of resources that can fund massive organizing pushes, digital advocacy, and voter mobilization to fight for our policy agenda in Congress.
