In order to pass the once-in-a-generation Build Back Better agenda―paid for by finally making the rich and corporations pay their fair share―progressives are holding the line, demanding a vote on President Biden’s 10-year $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package before Congress passes the bipartisan infrastructure bill.

That infrastructure bill may be voted on tonight. If it passes before the Build Back Better Act, our entire agenda could be sunk.

All month, Americans for Tax Fairness and our allies have been directing thousands of calls and letters to members of Congress, demanding they go big and bold, and reminding them how popular these investments are when they’re 100% paid for by increasing taxes on millionaires, billionaires and corporations.

Democrats must Hold The Line on the original agreement of Congress not voting on the bipartisan infrastructure bill until the Build Back Better agenda is passed.

• Make healthcare, eldercare, childcare, education and housing more affordable;

• Expand Medicare to cover hearing, dental, and vision;

• Provide universal pre-K for 3- and 4-year olds and free community college;

• Create comprehensive paid family and medical leave;

• Help create a clean energy economy;

• Extend the expanded Child Tax Credit, which has the potential to cut child poverty in half.

This is the moment when we see who is truly with the American people and who’s with Wall Street and Corporate America.
