Peggy Shepard Awarded France's Knight of the National Order of Merit
 
Peggy Shepard was made a Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, one of the French Republic’s highest honors, for her pioneering work in the fight for environmental justice. The Knight of the National Order of Merit medal was presented to her by the Consul General of France in New York, Jérémie Robert (pictured above, on the left, with Peggy), in a small ceremony yesterday at the French Consulate in New York City.
