Welcome to The Agenda (yea - THAT agenda), your weekly update on what's happening in the LGBTQ political world. Whatever you do, don’t forward it to Mike Pence. He doesn't need to know what we're planning! Forward it to a friend instead.

Overview: The Pete train rolls on, Jon Hoadley's historic run and much more!
FEEL THE PETE WAVE
It’s a long road to November 2020, but let’s live in the now. With all candidates reporting, Mayor Pete officially raised the most money in Quarter 2.
With a massive fundraising haul and consistently impressive polling, Mayor Pete has earned a slot among the top five candidates.
The next steps? Convincing skeptical voters while creating in-roads with swing voters (yes, they still exist).
While the Tweeter in Chief threatens endless war, Mayor Pete sat down with Military Times to talk about his past military service, commitment to diplomacy and more. Read the full interview here.
Looking to be convinced about Mayor Pete? Catch him in the second Democratic debate – airing on CNN July 30th!
SAME OLD TUNE
The latest from Nashville: all is not well in Music City. Anti-LGBTQ metro council candidate Dan Meredith - who infamously made headlines for his homophobic, transphobic and overall ignorant Facebook posts - is once again in the news. This time he's attacking his opponent, Victory Fund endorsed candidate Russ Bradford, with this anti-marriage equality, anti-LGBTQ, anti-sense mailer:

But despite Meredith's tendency to sing the bigoted blues, Nashville is on the verge of electing the most LGBTQ candidates ever to the Metro Council. Learn more about Bradford's campaign (and maybe make a donation!) here.

FED UP
Add another potential historic first to your list – we’ve endorsed Michigan’s Jon Hoadley for US Congress! Jon could make history as the first openly LGBTQ person elected to Congress from Michigan.
Jon’s off to a strong start – despite announcing mid-April, Jon raised over $315,000 last quarter.
Speaking of other historic races – Game Changer candidate for the U.S. Senate Dan Baer sat down for an exclusive with The Advocate, detailing his historic run.
And down in Texas, Game Changer Gina Ortiz Jones is attending meetings and vigils dedicated to ending the horrific family separations on the U.S. Mexico border.

BATTLE FOR QUEENS
Poll workers are working overtime. Lawyers are hotly debating ballot marks. The recount for Queens DA has officially begun.
As of yesterday, only 15 votes remain between Victory Fund candidate Tiffany Cabán and her opponent.
As such, every vote will count – including affidavit ballots and ballots incorrectly invalidated.
Still confused on the details of the recount? Let Tiffany herself give you the details.

READY OR NOT
Here we come! Spotlight candidate Carlton Smith could make history as the first openly LGBTQ state legislator in Mississippi history. Read up on his historic run here.
