Hi there,

It feels like yesterday that I was emailing you to help me surprise Tom for our 33rd wedding anniversary.

I’ve now known Tom for almost 40 years, and I know how important this race is to him. In order to reach everyone in Maryland, he’s got to raise a lot of money, and right now he’s a bit short of his quarterly fundraising goal.

I hate to ask, but is there any way you could help out with a donation of any amount to show Tom you have his back before the deadline? This is the biggest deadline he’s ever faced, and it would mean a great deal to both of us to receive a surge of grassroots contributions before midnight tonight from folks who have his back.

Nobody knows Tom better than I do, so trust me when I tell you this: He’ll work harder for your family than anybody else. It’s just who he is. Tom has the strongest moral compass, and the kindest heart, of anyone I’ve ever known.

When he got out of law school, he could’ve gone to work for some massive firm, but he wanted to help people. Since then, his life’s work has been to uplift and fight for others.

Tom has always led with his heart and shared a commitment to progress. These traits are evident in everything he does. From coaching our kids’ basketball teams to leading the Civil Rights division of the Department of Justice to serving as Maryland’s Labor Secretary, or leading the U.S. Department of Labor, Tom has always sought to fight for vulnerable communities and solve problems others deem unsolvable.

He’s running for Governor to fight for Marylanders, and I can promise you that he’s the person you want in your corner.

So, I’m asking from the bottom of my heart: Can you pitch in before midnight to help Tom meet his end-of-quarter goal? I know seeing that you have his back will mean the world to him >>
