John, we’re facing a huge public filing deadline at midnight tonight, and right now, we’re still $11,299 short of our fundraising target. Before I ask you to help close the gap by chipping in toward our $100,000 goal, I want to share why this deadline matters so much in our race to flip this open Senate seat blue:

All eyes are on Pennsylvania because it’s the only open Senate seat in a state where President Biden won last fall — yet the Republicans running for this seat have denied that Biden won. Trump’s hand-picked candidate for this seat even tried throwing out millions of legally cast mail-in ballots here in Pennsylvania.

At the same time, Republicans in our legislature are still trying to relitigate the 2020 election, including by attempting to subpoena personal information of every registered voter in our Commonwealth. Flipping this seat is the difference between electing someone like Val who knows our elections are fair and wants to expand access to the ballot box, and sending an election denier from the right to Washington on our behalf.

Senate Republicans have made it clear they prefer the latter, having raised tens of millions of dollars to keep seats like Pennsylvania’s red — which is why it’s so important we keep up our fundraising to show we have what it takes to go up against their huge war chest and stand up for our democracy.

Val is ready to put this Senate seat to work for Pennsylvanians, from protecting the right to vote and defending reproductive rights, to creating lots of good-paying union jobs and investing in our infrastructure. But she needs a strong grassroots team to make it happen, and falling behind on our fundraising goals will make it that much more difficult.
