I’ll be honest, folks. This race is going to be a tough one.
I am a Democrat running against a right-wing radical who helped incite an insurrection -- but I have a plan to defeat Madison Cawthorn and that plan involves you.
I’ll dive into the details in a minute -- but before I go any further, I have an important FEC deadline to meet by MIDNIGHT tonight and still have $4,771 left to raise. Will you chip in $10 or more right now to help me reach my end-of-quarter goal?
So exactly how do we plan on defeating Madison Cawthorn? It’s a great question and one I’ve been getting a lot out on the campaign trail.
I get it. I’m not exactly your typical politician and the last time a Democrat won NC-11 was 2010. Not to mention, Cawthorn has the backing of Donald Trump and his right-wing donor network.
But it’s clear that Cawthorn doesn’t represent who we are in WNC and we deserve better from our leaders. We have the power to replace Cawthorn and bring unity, leadership, and the truth back to NC-11.
Harnessing that power requires that we build the largest grassroots organizing campaign WNC has ever seen, which will be the foundation of the largest voter turnout operation we’ve seen. It means organizing early, often, and everywhere.
That’s why I’m out there knocking doors and organizing from parking lots to front porches. I'm connecting with folks across the district and talking with them about issues from expanding rural broadband, to the COVID-19 pandemic, to how we bring jobs to the region that pay a dignified wage.
We win by holding Cawthorn accountable for his extremism and making sure people in WNC have access to the truth, not disinformation. From his dangerous rhetoric to voting against the American Rescue Plan, Cawthorn prioritizes his own extreme political agenda over his actual job of representing WNC. And people are noticing. He’s losing support, including from some of the very people who worked hard to elect him in 2020.
To do this, we need resources to ensure we can execute our strategic priorities on a daily basis, not delay key steps because we can't afford them yet. Our team is so inspired by the thousands of people like you who have stepped up to make sure our first 200+ days have been as strong as possible. Now we need your help to keep paving the way forward.
Here’s how you can help, friend: Our campaign relies on grassroots donations from people like you chipping in to emails like this one. Will you chip in whatever you can right now before our FEC deadline? It would mean a lot.
In this together,
Jasmine
