Hi Friends - We have some important events coming up!
- Our last meeting prior to the election ("The Last Push") is this Sunday at West Sixth from 3-5pm! Please RSVP HERE. <Go to the link and invite everyone you know who might help. The following people will be sharing information:
- Clark Williams from The People's Campaign will discuss the "Better Than Bevin" initiative.
- Nema Brewer and Dr. Jeni Bolander from 120 will discuss recent 120 efforts
- Clint Morris and Colin Lauderdale from FCDP and KDP will talk numbers and GOTV
- Would you like to do something other than canvas? Political science research suggests that if you contact people (especially apathetic voters) and explain how the election is important to YOU, about 1 in 12 people who wouldn't have otherwise voted will vote. If all of our members participated, we could influence over 5,000 voters! Andy Beshear won in 2015 by 2,194 votes, or 0.02% (see image below). We don't have much data, but polls indicate that this election could be closer than that. Please CLICK HERE for more information and to participate. Everything is on the line.
- As you know, Trump is coming to town on 11/4. BGAA (along with a coalition of organizations) is participating in a Day of Action that day. More information this Sunday at the meeting.
BGAA has ~5,000 Facebook members and ~1,500 on the newsletter list. We don't require dues and don't ask much from our members, but if you are a member of BGAA, we hope you will come to the last meeting and participate in at least one more get-out-the-vote effort. Everything is on the line. We need your help. Kentucky needs your help!
