I want to thank all of you who have given to our end of quarter efforts! We appreciate all of your generous contributions.

On Wednesday, I was on Fox News discussing
“The Defending Students’ Civil Rights Act” that would clarify that it is a violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to teach Critical Race Theory in schools receiving federal funding. I’ve been traveling the 5th District for several months, speaking at school board meetings about the dangers of this ideology.

I am sponsoring this legislation because Critical Race Theory (CRT) erroneously states that an individual’s race is determinative of his or her life outcomes. Over 5,000 educators have already signed a pledge to teach Critical Race Theory in America’s schools.

Despite the concerns of parents across the country, the Biden Administration’s priorities for the Department of Education’s American History and Civics Educations programs directly encourages the propagation of radical ideals, including the 1619 project, as well as Ibram X. Kendi’s How to be an Anti-Racist, which directly advocates for discrimination.

CRT is a threat to every child’s civil rights and the propaganda surrounding it is dangerous.

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act states: “No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

The Defending Students' Civil Rights Act would make teaching Critical Race Theory in schools that receive federal funding a violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

I haven’t made my fundraising calls this week because I’m working around the clock to preserve our liberties and ensure that America’s school children can attend school to achieve a great academic foundation, not to be fed Marxist propaganda.
