#NeverIsNow
Join us at the Never is Now Summit on Anti-Semitism and Hate on Nov. 21st as ADL presents its Courage Against Hate Award to Hamdi Ulukaya, Chobani founder & CEO
Hamdi Ulukaya, the founder and CEO of leading Greek yogurt brand Chobani, is a leader who has demonstrated time and again that the business community has a responsibility to make the world better for all people.
Hamdi’s lifelong commitment to defending marginalized communities and giving a voice to the vulnerable after overcoming adversity in his own life is resonant with ADL, given our mission of fighting hate in all forms and our vigilance in supporting the rights of refugees and other immigrants. It also makes him an inspiring leader to join us at the Never Is Now Summit on anti-Semitism and Hate.
Hamdi is known for saying, “We sell yogurt, but what we really want to make is a difference.”
As a first-generation American himself, coming to the United States after growing up in a Kurdish sheep-farming village in Turkey, he has a focus on the urgent need to support refugees fleeing persecution. He founded the Tent Partnership for Refugees, which has recruited over 130 companies to sign on not just to hire refugees, but to invest in them and improve their lives.
Hamdi has become a major voice in encouraging CEOs to change their playbook to be more involved in the world around them. He has made a real difference for refugees both through the Tent Partnership and at Chobani, where a significant portion of employees are immigrants or refugees, speaking more than 20 languages.
ADL will be proud to present Hamdi Ulukaya with our 2019 Courage Against Hate Award at Never Is Now, following inaugural recipient Tim Cook CEO of Apple.
We hope you’ll join Hamdi, as well as community leaders, students, academics and business leaders from across the county. At Never Is Now, you will be inspired, educated and challenged by our unmatched lineup of speakers and sessions to combat the ever-present challenges of anti-Semitism, bigotry and hate.
Please register today and join us in New York on November 21st.
