[link removed] [[link removed]]URGENT : We are less than 24 hours away from closing our books on the month of September. We are still $2,655 short of hitting our fundraising goal. Can you rush a contribution of $25, $50 or $100 right now? [[link removed]]
Wow! Thank you so much for the outpouring of support. Together we can make big things happen. But I have to tell you - we are still short of our fundraising goal for September. If you could chip in right now, it would mean a lot to me and our team and show our strength as a campaign. [[link removed]] I’m confident with supporters and friends like you, we will have a lot to celebrate next November. But right now we have to focus on what matters most: raising the resources we need to defend this seat. And we all know that early money is the key to our win. >>>Can you chip in right now?<<< [[link removed]] Mari ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Mari Manoogian <

[[link removed]] These deadlines may seem to create an undue panic in your email inbox, but I want to take a moment to tell you why they matter. In an off-year like this one, fundraising reports are due in January, July and October. These fundraising numbers are reported to the Secretary of State and become public, making them available to anyone to view, including our GOP opponent, who has wasted no time gearing up a run against me. He’s already hired a consultant and has started campaigning. Fundraising numbers that are viewed as weak or without many contributors, often signal to the state and national political parties, including the Michigan House Republican Campaign Committee, that there is an opportunity to “flip” the district and pour in resources to defeat a sitting State Representative. My GOP opponent is bragging about how much money he has raised this quarter, so we already know that they’re going to attempt to come out strong to try and take this seat back. [link removed] [[link removed]] Fundraising reports also help determine how political parties will prioritize resources, including candidate support, campaign staff, field and voter outreach assistance, and help with additional fundraising. Perhaps more importantly, we are in the middle of a redistricting process where the lines of our district will move. And, depending on the final results of how those lines end up, there are a variety of scenarios that could play out. All of this is to say, in the end, we need to push as hard as we can to meet our September fundraising goal in order to defend this seat. Thank you for taking the time to read this email. Your support today, and every day, is the key to building a Democratic majority [[link removed]] in the Michigan House and sending me back to Lansing so I can keep fighting for all of us.
