I’ve always liked to keep things color-coded. So, as you can imagine, my fundraising tracker is no different. But, John, it does give me a little anxiety when we’re coming up on a big deadline like today’s.

Right now, the row for this quarter’s fundraising is still a light red , meaning we haven’t yet raised the amount we need to make sure we can continue to run a strong campaign for the rest of the year — and even into next year. And Georgia Republicans just released a draft of new maps for 2022 that try to swing our district over 10 points to Trump, only heightening the urgency at this deadline.

We’re still $4,620 behind our FEC filing deadline goal. Lucy doesn’t have a corporate PAC or a gun lobby she can call up and ask to make up the difference — she, and I, are counting on the grassroots support of folks like you instead. As the finance director, it’s my job to allocate where the money we raise goes. But, it also means that I have to figure out what to cut if we don’t close the gap tonight.

Every part of this campaign is crucial to making sure we can fight back against Republican gerrymandering and the GOP’s plan to spend millions in the 6th District next year. We can’t afford to cut anything back.
