‌John -- After years of working together to build a movement that can combat gerrymandering, you no longer have to take my word that politicians will try to repeat the tactics of 2011. The map manipulation is here, unfolding in front of us all in plain sight.

Our response must be unambiguous. Yes, I’m asking you to make a donation today -- but I’m asking for more than that. I’m asking you to continue to believe that our individual actions can lead to collective change.

Will you chip in today to help All On The Line win the fight for our democracy? [[link removed]]

As states begin proposing and passing maps, a pattern has begun to emerge: in states where Republicans have control of the redistricting process, they are seeking to eliminate competitive elections regardless of public input or changes in population.

In Texas, we saw accelerating diversity in the census results: 95% of its population growth came from communities of color -- just to witness the Texas Legislature introduce state Senate and congressional maps that crack and pack those very communities into gerrymandered districts.

And in Ohio, there was hope that the state would close the book on its history of gerrymandering after voters passed historic reform measures in 2015 and 2018 -- yet we saw politicians on the newly formed commission ignore deadline after deadline and draw state legislative districts that may prove to be less competitive than the 2011 maps.

There is no moral equivalence on this issue, John. There is no “both sides.” We are witnessing those who are in power seek to protect that power at all costs and at the expense of the voters they are sworn to represent. Population change? Pack it. Citizens speaking out? Ignore it. A constitutional deadline? Skip it.

We must challenge that way of thinking. That is what All On The Line was built for -- this moment.

So I’m asking you again to invest in All On The Line and the fight to end gerrymandering. We cannot sit on the sidelines. Our democracy needs us. Our fellow citizens need us.
