The Actors Fund enews

The Actors Fund lives in a variety of worlds; some full of lights, cameras, set pieces, costumes, music and dancing; others revolve around doctor’s appointments, meetings with financial advisors and career counselors, and housing lotteries.

We’re so excited to share “Gotta Go To The Doctor”, which combines two of these worlds: a completely original music video featuring so many talented friends of The Fund that’s all about The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts! (It was even filmed on site at The Health Center!) We guarantee you’ll come away tapping your toes and thinking about your next doctor’s visit in a whole new light.

The Fund had a riveting night discussing the upcoming 2020 TV season and the state of the industry with a panel of showrunners who have been leading the way for years, while never slowing down as they look ahead. Ilene Chaiken, Krista Vernoff, Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters joined moderator Lesley Goldberg to share their personal stories, experiences and advice.

We’re always looking for new resources to share with our performing arts and entertainment community, and we’re pleased to celebrate the launch of Dance Business Weekly: a new endeavor from Dance Media. Congratulations on an already very successful two months!

As we continue into the fall months and the changing of the seasons, we thank you all for joining us in the many exciting worlds we’re so lucky and proud to inhabit.

Gotta Go To The Doctor

“Are you here to see the doctor?” We’re thrilled to release our new music video that tells the story of The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts! Operated in partnership between The Fund and Mount Sinai Doctors, The Friedman Health Center is the medical provider for New York City’s entertainment community. The video, filmed at The Health Center and entitled “Gotta Go To The Doctor,” features music and lyrics by Barbara Anselmi (It Shoulda Been You), choreography by Ryan VanDenBoom (Fosse/Verdon, Bandstand) and stars Derrick Cobey (Kiss Me, Kate!), Mallory Hawks, Marissa Rosen, Bobby Conte Thornton (Company, A Bronx Tale) and Adrienne Walker (The Lion King, Kiss Me, Kate!).

The Friedman Health Center offers primary and specialty care (including dermatology, physical therapy, podiatry and sports medicine), expedited referrals within the Mount Sinai Health System, extended hours and continuity of care for those who experience regular changes in health insurance coverage. It accepts most insurance plans, with free and unbiased health insurance enrollment and counseling available on site.
