John,
Our first major end-of-quarter deadline hits tomorrow night at 11:59 pm, so before I ask you to chip in $3 to our campaign, I want to give you a few quick updates. It's important to me that you know what's going on:

• I'm running against GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy. In the past month, he joked about “hitting” Nancy Pelosi with the gavel, obstructing the investigation into January 6th, and pledged to stop funding for working families over "his dead body."
• We also got a look into his campaign playbook. He has a team of people blanketing our community with misleading information about his record, but he's not fooling anyone. No matter what his glossy postcards say, he’s protecting Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene while our Central Valley community suffers.
• In response, our team is ramping up our grassroots field efforts. We're hiring bilingual canvassers to make sure everyone in CA-23 knows that I'm the viable Democrat running against him.
• To fully fund our field operation, we have to hit our $50,000 goal before the end of the week, and unfortunately we're coming up $9,981 short today.
John, can you chip in $3 before midnight to help us keep pace and close our fundraising gap? Anything you give will help me correct Kevin McCarthy's record and take him head-on right here in his backyard.

Too much is at stake for our working families, small businesses, and farmers -- and really, the entire country -- to miss the mark on this major goal.
We can do this.
