It’s not just one candidate that’s gone too far, and it’s affecting races up-and-down the ballot. Learn more:
Friend,
Last night, Republicans’ extremist nominee for Governor in Virginia just announced that if Donald Trump ran again, he would endorse and support him.
Here’s why this concerns us: he and down-ballot Republicans (like conservative GOP AG nominee Jason Miyares) could actually win in Virginia’s critical election in just a few weeks – and they could bring Trumpism with them.
The even bigger problem: they are just the first of many Big Lie, pro-Trump Republicans positioning themselves to take power across the country over the next year.
Trump has already endorsed a Republican AG candidate in Michigan (who is trying to unseat Democratic AG and all-around democracy champion Dana Nessel) as well as sitting indicted Republican AG Ken Paxton, who was part of the “Stop the Steal rally” on January 6 – and Republican AGs across the country are falling over themselves to show Trump their support even now.
Across the country, Republican candidates are spouting dangerous, anti-democratic lies. Democratic AGs are fighting in and out of the courtroom to expand access to the ballot box and to protect every legally cast ballot.
And don’t forget, Dem AGs were crucial to protecting President Biden’s victory from far-right conspiracy theorists who filed frivolous lawsuits to overturn the election.
But Dem AGs have so much more to do, and this week’s FEC deadline is a key moment for grassroots supporters like you to help us get ahead in these key races.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
