Hey John,

Last week we emailed everyone asking if you thought we should restore Endangered Species Act protections for gray wolves. We got a lost of responses, which is why we wanted to make sure you knew about this breaking update:

Because of new laws in Idaho and Montana that made it easy to slaughter gray wolves, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering restoring their protections.

The new law in Idaho is particularly merciless, permitting hunters to kill wolves at night or from motor vehicles, greenlighting contract killing for wolves and getting rid of the limit on wolf tags that an individual can buy.

We need to end short-term thinking when it comes to our threatened and endangered species. President Trump recklessly removed protections for gray wolves, and some western states passed rules and laws to allow them to be slaughtered as quickly as possible.

Will you make a donation to SEEC members in Congress who are fighting for long-term thinking that will protect endangered species like gray wolves? The secure link to donate at is below:

Subject: Biden siding with Trump on gray wolves

Team — We’ve been emailing you over the past few months about the fate of gray wolves. During the final hours of the Trump Presidency, Donald Trump ended Endangered Species Act protections for gray wolves.

This decision opened the door to a hunting season on gray wolves in Wisconsin that far exceeded the kill quota allowed under the hunt. Research later confirmed that since being stripped of federal protections by former President Trump, a third of Wisconsin's total wolf population has been killed.

SEEC members have been fighting to end short-sighted decisions when it comes to the conservation and protection of endangered wildlife. But now, after all of this, the Biden Administration is maintaining the decision under former President Donald Trump to lift protections for gray wolves across most of the U.S.

That’s why we want to know what you think: Do you think we should restore Endangered Species Act protections for gray wolves?

Thanks for your feedback!
