26. Let Sanctuary be your home away from home. We have on-site tiny houses at Watkins Glen! Guests can awaken to the sights and sounds of Sanctuary.

27. Experience life at Sanctuary—LIVE! Explore.org provides SEVEN live camera views, from cows grazing to sheep snoozing. It’s perfect for those too far away to visit or anyone missing their friends at the farm.

28. Kat Von D helped us show the beauty of compassion. Her “Farm Sanctuary Collection” included lipsticks named after—and benefitting—Sanctuary’s rescued animals. We wore that kindness everywhere!

29. Bring humane education to your school! We offer FREE classes for students pre-K through college. There are puppet shows, artsy lesson plans, empowering lectures, and more.

30. Joaquin Phoenix brought the message home. After a heart-to-heart talk with a slaughterhouse owner, Phoenix helped bring a mother cow and her calf to our Southern California shelter.

The Sanctuary movement wasn't created by one person or one organization, but by the collective actions of compassionate individuals—by believers like you. You are the Power of Sanctuary.

On October 9, please join us for a virtual celebration—with special guests John Lewis, Dominick Thompson, Bob Weir, Paul Wesley, and appearances by James Cromwell, Alicia Silverstone and more! Together, we’ll reflect on 35 years of Sanctuary, plus the work involved in creating a more just and compassionate food system.

We’ll be honoring amazing changemakers: Brenda Sanders of Thrive Baltimore, Afro-Vegan Society, Vegan Soulfest, and Greener Kitchen and Maggie Baird of Support + Feed for their commitment to food justice and combating food insecurity. You’ll hear stories of survival, of hard-won victories, and more!
