This isn’t the email we want to be sending with 1 ½ days left before our
FEC deadline. Despite a ton of effort, it looks like we’re falling behind
on our goal. And we don’t know if we can plausibly catch up.

Truthfully, we’re a little more than $40,000 behind what we raised online
by this point during our last end-of-quarter push.

We’ve had almost the exact same number of contributions come in so far in
September compared to June (our last quarterly deadline). BUT, the average
contribution size dipped considerably. So we’re behind on the total $$
raised.

A slowdown in summer fundraising is pretty normal for campaigns, but we
were really hoping to beat our total from last quarter to show some
momentum. Now, it’s looking unlikely unless we see a big surge during
these final 1 ½ days.

the first time before our big deadline? Any amount would
help us close this shortfall — whether you can afford $5, $25, or more.

Unless we turn things around in the final hours remaining, we could end
the quarter well under our target number.

The Republicans, including Donald Trump's endorsed candidate for this
Senate seat, would *love* to see us fall short — because they know John is
the ONLY candidate beating every single GOP candidate in a hypothetical
general election in the latest poll.

That was the bad news, but here's the good news: We’ve still got a day and
a half left to turn this around. We *MIGHT* still be able to make up all
this ground. Let’s leave it all on the field and see if we can close up as
much of the gap as possible.

grassroots funding instead of the old school way of taking corporate PAC
money and relying on big donors.
