Nearly two weeks ago, Gov. Gavin Newsom was declared the winner of the recall election. But guess what happened a week before that? Donald Trump was already claiming that the California recall election was rigged. Here’s what that headline looked like:
Make no mistake: This was a strategic move by Trump and right-wing extremists. They threaten the integrity of our fair and free electoral system, they introduce and pass racist legislation that makes it harder for Black people to make their voices heard at the polls --
they just don’t give up.
But we can’t give up either, and we won’t until we put an end to white supremacy,
especially white supremacy in politics.
Politicians are elected for the people and by the people, and we’re the ones that hold the power. That’s why we need to power BLM PAC and prepare for the fight of our lives -- because all the work we did for the 2020 election is being threatened by the next wave of white supremacist legislators across the entire country. It seems like whenever the right loses a race, right-wing extremists always jump to the conclusion that the election was rigged. We saw this in the 2020 election, we saw it in the California recall, and it is very likely we’ll see it in the upcoming midterm elections.
They are relentless in their tactics to dismantle our democracy, and we will no longer tolerate all of the lies and false narratives surrounding voter fraud.
