Cultivating a groundswell of activism Friends, Our work, as you know, never stops. As we transition to over to fall, I'd like to offer some reflections. Over the last few months I've spent evenings in cities and towns across the commonwealth, meeting with folks who are ready for change and willing to do something to make it happen. These nightly ballot initiative organizational meetings have drawn out patriots of all backgrounds, and not just registered Republicans. We chose to focus on the three 2022 ballot initiatives -- protections for newborns, voter identification, and stopping a new gas tax -- because these are three issues that not only bring people together, but transcend party affiliation. To grow the Massachusetts Republican Party from the ground-up, the first place we need to go to is the ground itself. The grassroots, and not the well-connected. The small business owner, and not the corporate lobbyist or Beacon Hill special interest group. I've been impressed at the turnout for these organizational events. Whether it's Fall River, Leominster, Marlboro, Billerica, or on Cape Cod, people are energized. They're aware of what's going on, both on Beacon Hill and in Washington, D.C. And they want to do something about it. These events have generated enthusiasm for local involvement, and are helping rebuild local Republican town and city committees in immeasurable ways. I've put a lot of miles on my car, and I would not have it any other way. After a year of being locked down, people were feeling restless, as was I. These nightly events have once again proved to me the importance of meeting new people face-to-face, listening to their concerns, and being able to look them in the eye and tell them, "we're doing something about it, please join us." They are joining us, and together we are building something very special here in Massachusetts. As we keep putting in the work, the enthusiasm will grow. With less than 11 weeks remaining, and thousands upon thousands of signatures left to collect, people are recognizing the urgency and responding appropriately. Ours is a tough hill to climb, but it's a hill absolutely worth climbing. Moving forward, if there's one thing I know it's that the work we do now to rally the grassroots will pay off in 2022. I'm going to continue to put in the work, and that's my promise to the grassroots. The Massachusetts Republican Party belongs to you. Let's never lose sight of that fundamental truth.
