Dear John,

Thank you to all our supporters who have made our ACTION fundraising campaign such a success. Our major donors gave over $100,000 to Action, and challenged our members to match that total. Thousands of you gave, and the match was met! So, we had a total of $200,000 to spend to defeat the Democrats' plan to give amnesty to most illegal aliens.

I've got great news to add to that. Another major donor has just added ANOTHER $100,000 to our campaign, so that's $300,000 we've already raised. If you can match THAT generosity, we'll be up to $400,000!

This means every dollar we receive before October 1 will be matched, no matter how big or small. This is now our largest ACTION fund matching campaign EVER! But while we have plenty of money to match donations, we need to hear from you by MIDNIGHT THURSDAY to be able to spend the money immediately!

October 1 is a very important date for us, since it's the start of a new fiscal year. The more money we bring in before October 1, the more our board of directors, who oversee our finances, know they can allow us to spend to defeat amnesty.

Whether it's three dollars, or fifty thousand dollars... every gift WILL BE MATCHED!

But we need to hear from you BEFORE OCTOBER FIRST!!! To be absolutely clear, I must hear from you by Thursday midnight so your donation to Action can be matched.

You've probably heard that everything in Congress is an absolute mess. The budget reconciliation bill, the infrastructure bill and the bill to raise the debt ceiling are all stalled. The Democratic leadership is discovering they need all of their members, including moderates, to pass anything. And they need to deal with Republicans to pass much.

We're very pleased that so far Republicans are united in opposition to the huge amnesty proposed by the Democrats. And we're appreciative of all that those of you with Republican Members have done to help them see that.

Senate Democrats have now presented their Amnesty "Plan B" to the Senate Parliamentarian, Elizabeth MacDonough, for pre-approval. You'll remember that she wrote that their "Plan A" amnesty would break Senate rules about what kind of measure can be included in a budget reconciliation bill (that needs only 51 votes to pass).

THIS JUST IN: Reports say MacDonough has rejected Plan B. As we reported last week, Democratic Senator Dick Durbin claimed to have a "Plan B, C and D," so we're not out of the woods yet, but this is certainly good news!

This time, Democrats are proposing that several million illegal aliens get amnesty using a different tactic. They are trying to get the Parliamentarian to approve changing a date in current law that now says that illegal aliens who arrived in America before 1972 more-or-less automatically get green cards. A solid source says that the date they are now proposing is sometime in 2010. So, if an illegal alien arrived in America between 1972 (the current date) and 2010, a period of 38 years, then those 6 million+ illegal aliens would receive amnesty.

We hope that Ms. MacDonough turns this Plan B proposal down just like she did Plan A. Despite Democrats' leaders' arguments that this is not changing a law, the date is set in law. But we can't presume what MacDonough's ruling will be, and we can't presume the Senate will listen to the Parliamentarian, so we're continuing to apply terrific pressure to all the moderate Democrats in Congress to vote against any amnesty plan that makes it into the reconciliation bill.

John, we have to do everything we can to stop amnesty. We cannot rest until it's dead and buried for good!

That's why we're so thrilled we've received such an outpouring of support. But we're taking NOTHING FOR GRANTED!
