Women have always been central to the story of American progress. Over the last three years, as the American experiment has been challenged to its core, women have forged a path forward: organizing the Women’s March, leading the Black Lives Matter movement, continuing to drive the #MeToo movement, and winning historic gains in the 2018 election. Women, particularly women of color, have challenged our country to live up to its values.

But this advocacy and progress for women has come despite systemic, persistent sexism and discrimination that have excluded women from economic, political, and social power.

This cannot go on. It’s not right. And under my watch, it will end. Today, I’m proud to release our most comprehensive plan yet -- one to systematically build up women’s power.

My administration will work to end the pay and wealth gaps by putting $10 billion into ending workplace discrimination and providing support for child care and paid family leave. We will appoint historic numbers of women to the federal cabinet and judiciary, end the maternal mortality crisis, and drive culture change to bring about an America that fully enfranchises women. I’ll protect reproductive freedom by writing abortion rights into law, abolishing the Hyde Amendment, and appointing Supreme Court justices who share my vision of freedom and choice for all Americans.

Women in my city and on my campaign -- where they represent over 50% of staff -- work to lead America into a brighter future. And I couldn’t be prouder to be by their side.

These policies are not just “women’s issues.” These are American issues. And we need to address them with bold solutions -- for all our sakes.
